A rain garden is a landscaped depression that soaks up rainwater, often from the roof of a house or a driveway.  The increased amount of water that filters into the ground reduces stormwater runoff, which often carries urban pollutants into lakes and streams.  In addition to protecting natural water resources, rain gardens can protect communities from flooding and draining problems.  Of course, the gardens enhance the aesthetic quality of our yards and neighborhoods as well.

Our Ozarks Rain Garden Project is underway. One garden is near completion and the other is in the beginning phases. Both gardens are located at the Missouri State Campus at Mountain Grove.
